We're Live on Product Hunt: Why I Built Burgndy.ai

Burgndy.ai is live on Product Hunt today. If you're reading this because you just found the listing: welcome, and thank you for checking it out. This post is the fuller version of the story behind it — why it exists, what it actually does, and what's genuinely real about it versus what's still early.
Why I built this
I don't come from an engineering background — my work has been in operations, quality assurance, and customer experience, not writing production code. What pushed me to build Burgndy.ai was trying several AI app builders for a real idea and hitting the same wall each time: either the tool handed back a web page dressed up to look like an app, or it generated code that looked plausible right up until I actually tried to compile and run it. Neither result is an app. I wanted something that couldn't skip that step, so I built one.
Burgndy.ai is the result — an AI app builder that produces a real, compiling Flutter (and now Node/web) app, tests it on an actual device, and can carry it through to app store submission. Not a mockup, not a demo video, not a preview that quietly stops working the moment you try to ship it.
Two real ways to build
There isn't one single mechanism behind Burgndy.ai — there are two, built for genuinely different situations. Proven Blocks assembles your app from a hand-authored, individually-tested library of feature modules (auth, catalog/list screens, booking, in-app chat, and more), validated against a real compatibility matrix so nothing conflicts. It's fast and deterministic, because nothing in it is being generated from scratch.
Studio is the other path — a genuine AI coding agent that writes real Dart or JavaScript source in a live sandbox, the same way a developer would, for anything outside the fixed block library. You watch it happen in real time: files appear, tests run, and (for Flutter) a live hot-reload preview updates as the agent works. For the two categories with the highest real cost of getting it wrong, sign-in and payments, Studio pulls from real, pre-tested reference code instead of generating those from scratch, and you can see it happen live in the build log. I wrote a longer breakdown of both paths, including the real measured costs and a couple of failures I didn't hide, in an earlier post if you want the fuller technical picture.
What's real, stated plainly
- Real compiled output: a genuine .apk/.aab for Android, and an installable Simulator build for iOS — not a browser tab pretending to be an app.
- Real device testing: builds run through actual capture pipelines (an Android emulator, an iOS Simulator), not a simulated pass/fail.
- Real store submission support, for the Play Store and App Store.
- Real, working payments through Razorpay for Burgndy.ai's own plans, and a reference implementation Studio can build into a generated app for its own end users.
- A real credit-based pricing model, not fabricated usage tiers — see the pricing page for exactly what a credit costs to use.
And what's still early: Burgndy.ai launched today, so there's no long public track record yet — that's true, and I'd rather say it than pretend otherwise. Studio is a genuinely new engine, still being hardened against harder and more unusual prompts. If something breaks, I want to hear about it, not have it quietly swept under a highlight reel.
Try it, and tell me what's broken
If you've been burned by a vibe-coded app before — crashed, rejected by a store, or turned into code nobody could maintain — I'd genuinely like to hear what went wrong; it's exactly the failure mode Burgndy.ai is built against. And if you try Burgndy.ai today and something doesn't work the way this post says it should, tell me. A launch-day post that only lists what's good isn't worth much — this one's meant to hold up after today too.
